Petersons Lookout

Petersons Lookout has gorgeous views over the Tyers River Gorge and the Moondarra Tyers Park with viewing platforms a gentle 400 meters from the car-park. The lookout is on the Tyers-Walhalla Road around 10 minutes from the Tyers township and is a wonderful location to stop on the way to the historic township of Walhalla.

What does Petersons Lookout have?

Whilst Petersons Lookout is not a large area, there are two viewing platforms that look into the gorge and down to the Latrobe Valley region.  There is a picnic table but no other facilities (no water or toilets). But this is why we like Petersons Lookout, it is simple and quiet and you might be lucky enough to have the place to yourself.

Getting There

Petersons Lookout is on the W2 track off the Tyers-Walhalla Road and is well signposted. Be mindful that the road is narrow and can have some decent sized pot-holes so drive carefully.

More Information

Parks Victoria has Park Notes on the website for the Tyers Park which includes information on other walks and fauna/flora in the area.
